I. Love. Puerto Rico! As many times as I've gone, I can never ever get enough and I highly recommend the trip to everyone. This latest Puerto Rican adventure entailed many magical moments...
Atlantic City, a place I'd never journeyed to but for some reason had been strangely drawn to for the last couple of months. So I went! And it was awesome. I wasn't quite sure what to expect out of AC, I mean, I knew it was a casino kind of town but beyond that... no clue. The drive in began the adventure as the city seemed mystical in a way. You're surrounded by fields and country side in New Jersey, thinking you still must be pretty far away from this bustling casino city but out of nowhere, BAM, you see glimmers of the high-rise casino resorts, sparkling ocean waters, exciting billboards proclaiming the biggest shows, concerts, clubs, death-defying acts, etc... and realize you're there!
The place had a really cool, laid-back vibe and
Fort Tilden is located on Far Rockaway Beach Blvd. NY, NY and is part of Gateway National Recreation Area. Whats makes this beach crazy unique is that it offers a mixture of decommissioned military structures, natural areas, beautiful beaches (un-lifeguarded), trails, fishing, surfing, and more.
Fort Tilden was established during WWI in 1917 and remained an Army installation until 1974 when it was decommissioned and turned over to the National Park Service. What's super awesome is that
This magical spot is less than a mile from my home, which makes me one lucky girl :) I remember the first time I went to check it out and I was totally in AWE! Prospect Park is massive and you can go multiple times and still discover new paths, new playgrounds, new perfect picnic spots, etc...
The other awesome thing about this park is that
Heya! The latest adventure took me to a spot that has some of the very best views of Manhattan because all that separates it from LIC is the East River!
LIC has a ton of rad art galleries, a new waterfront park, great restaurants and more. I spent my time with the family of ducks, people watching and taking these photos posted here :)
Day or night, LIC = a guaranteed adventure with a view!
